Spring Colour Inspiration for Creatives
Nature stimulates your creative sensibility.
Happy Spring everyone! I just love this time of year.
Especially in Jordan where the landscape suddenly comes alive and the colours are so vibrant and luscious, albeit for a precious short period of time. Before too long, the sun dries everything up and the surrounding terrain is once more a mass of yellow and earth tones. So let's enjoy it while it lasts!
This month's theme is about colour - or the lack of it. We tend to spend too much time indoors and in front of our screens, especially during the winter months. On my way to the stables, the scenery below made me smile. I just had to stop the car and snap a photo of this special spot. Spring does that to me. I realised what I was missing. Exposing ourselves to the full spectrum of light outdoors is so important for our overall wellbeing. My Magnolia painting below, inspired by Peltier Patrick's photo, represents Spring for me.
Nature is truly amazing. Colour bursts forward once more after the months of gloomy, grey skies and bare trees. So take out your paints, become inspired by the colours all around you and get creative!

Quote of the Month
How
Did the Rose
Ever open its heart
And give to this world
All its
Beauty
It felt the encouragement of light
Against its
Being.
Otherwise,
We all remain
Too
Frightened.

Back to Black
The colour black is the absence of light or its complete absorption. I've avoided using black paint for quite some time now, preferring to mix my own black, using reds and blues for cooler hues, and greens and reds for warmer shades. However, in my painting below, I did something totally out of character. I used only two 'colours' for the background, Titanium White and Carbon Black. For someone who loves very bright colours, this was a bold move for me, but the painting called for it. So here it is, my latest painting.
