Organizing your artwork images will give you more headspace to focus on your creative practice.

As a creative, there are so many reasons why you will need images of your artwork. You may be an aspiring artist who hopes to market your work one day. Perhaps you are a creative entrepreneur, who is searching for more efficient ways to manage your art business. In either case, imagine receiving a phone call from a potential buyer, who is interested in one of your paintings you posted a while back on Instagram and wants to know a little more about it. You slightly panic, as you sift through your memory, trying desperately to remember the dimensions and the medium you used for this piece.

Wouldn’t it be amazing to find out at a glance which painting the person is referring to and be able to send them an image with all the information required within seconds?

Alternatively, perhaps you decide to start selling your creations on your new website but it takes you ages to collect all the key information you need to create your new product listing. Don’t you wish you had collected the information you need right now when you first started out on your creative journey?

Take it from someone who has been there before. It would take me ages to remember what year I painted the work let alone its size and substrate. Was it an oil or acrylic painting? Did I paint it on canvas or wood panel? Is it available in my studio or hanging in a gallery? Frustration sets in when you have to scroll through hundreds of images, trying to locate the one you need to upload to your website or social media channels. This is especially true when your growing number of paintings have been packed away and you simply cannot face the huge chore of unpacking them to collect the necessary data like size, medium etc.

With Airtable, you will have instantaneous access to all the information you need with one single click of a button. So do yourself a favour and start organizing your artwork images from day one. It will give you so much more time to spend on what you like doing best - making art!
