Artistic Journey
Seek inspiration for your art during travel!
Photography is a great way to gather inspiration and collect memories that may find their way onto your canvases.
It's been a very busy yet very inspiring month for me on many levels. Ramadan came and went all too quickly. I really enjoyed the slower pace that this special month offers. It encourages reflection and journeying within. June also brought opportunity for journeying beyond and discovering new idyllic spots, allowing me to express my creativity through a camera lens.
You don’t need long stretches of time for your creative practice.
With so much going on, I haven't had as much time as I'd like to paint. Ideally I prefer blocks of at least 3 hours for making art but carving out that sort of time during a busy day isn't always possible. I'm realising however, that creativity doesn't always require large chunks of time. Part of the artistic process is gathering inspiration from what's happening around us. It just depends on how we choose to approach our days.
Carry a mini art kit in your bag to record ideas, patterns, motifs etc.
I have one more upcoming trip to look forward to. My plan is to do plenty of sketching and take lots of photos. I won't have my paints unfortunately, but I've prepared a mini art kit that I can carry with me wherever I go. This is a great way to record impressions and insights as they emerge, allowing one to be in the creative space throughout the day. So I'm all set for my artistic journey. How will you spend your summer? Hope you all have a great one!
